James Rebhorn Dies of Skin Cancer



Actor James Rebhorn died on Friday, March 21 in his New Jersey home. He was diagnosed with melanoma in 1992 and had been getting treated ever since. He was 65.

Known for playing lawyers and politicians, the actor appeared in more than 50 films. Rebhorn started off in theater, television commercials and soap operas before he appeared in films. He had supporting roles in the 1990s in movies such as "The Talented Mr. Ripley," "Carlito's Way," "Scent of a Woman," and "Basic Instinct."

He also appeared on television shows like The Practice, Law & Order, and a recurring roles on Enlightened and White Collar. His most recent role was on Homeland playing Frank Mathison, the father of CIA agent, Carrie Mathison, played by Claire Danes. The show was about how they both struggle with having a bipolar disorder.

According to TMZ, the Lorenzo's Oil actor started receiving hospice in his home because his condition had gotten worse recently. He is survived by his wife Rebecca, and his two daughters, Hannah and Emma.
