L'Wrenn Scott, Mick Jagger's Longtime Girlfriend, Dies From Suicide

L'Wrenn Scott, longtime girlfriend of Mick Jagger, was found dead in her apartment in the morning on Monday, March 17. Her death was from an apparent suicide. Scott's body was found hanging from a scarf on a doorknob by her assistant at the designer's.

NY Daily News reports that the fashion designer was $6 million in debt when she committed suicide. LS Fashion Limited, Scott's company, was $2.1 million in debt in 2009 according to financial records. In 2010, it went up to $3.06 million and $5.89 million by 2012. The debt kept increasing as the years went by.

Scott, 49, could have sought out help from her boyfriend. The Rolling Stone front man's net worth is said to be more than $305 million. However, people close to the designer said that she was the type of person that hated asking for help.

Jagger, 70, is currently on tour in Australia with the Stones. A concert set for Wednesday was cancelled after the news broke. The singer gave a statement saying that he was "shocked and devastated" about the news. The couple had been together for over a decade. Their romance started in 2001.

Scott's clothes were worn by a lot of famous celebrities. Actresses such as Nicole Kidman and Angelina Jolie have worn her styles on the red carpet. Her clothes were even worn by first lady, Michelle Obama.
