Chris Kelly Cause of Death Revealed



Chris Kelly's cause of death has been released after two months of not knowing. The Kris Kross rapper died from a drug overdose.

Kelly was found unresponsive on Wednesday, May 1 in his Atlanta home and later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The cause of death hadn't been determined at the time, so family and friends had to wait for the results of a toxicology report. 

After two months of waiting, the screening revealed that the 34 year-old rapper had a lethal mixture of drugs in his system. The type of drugs were not revealed, but according to TMZ, Kelly's mother told police that he had been doing cocaine and heroin the night before. 

Kelly had a history of drug abuse. The family has yet to release a statement with a response to the report.  

Kelly became famous in 1992 when he and his partner, Chris Smith, made the hit "Jump."
