North Korea Enraged Over The Interview
Someone's not a fan of The Interview.
In this movie, James Franco and Seth Rogen star as a talk show host and a producer that land an interview with the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un. The CIA get involved and enlist them to assassinate him.
In the movie's trailer, Franco's character says, "Want to go kill Kim Jong Un?" Rogen's character responds saying, "Totally, I'd love to assassinate Kim Jong Un - it's a date."
Although The Interview is a comedy, the North Korea regimen isn't amused. Kim Myong-chol, an unofficial Pyongyang spokesman, gave a statement to The Telegraph on the irony of the upcoming movie.
"There is a special irony in this storyline as it shows the desperation of the US government and American society. "
"A film about the assassination of a foreign leader mirrors what the US has done in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Ukraine. And let us not forget who killed [President John F.] Kennedy - Americans."
He added, "President [Barack] Obama should be careful in case the US military wants to kill him as well."
Myong-chol also said that the North Korean leader planned on seeing the film. This prompted Rogen to tweet (below) about the revelation.
The Interview is set to release in October.
