Interrupting speeches must be the new trend now next to printed leggings. Kanye West learned his lesson after being booed for interrupting Taylor Swift's speech during the VMAs back in 2009. Aubrey Plaza must not have been present that year.
The 28 year-old comedian and actress paid tribute to the rapper by interrupting Will Ferrell during his acceptance speech for the Comedic Genius Golden Popcorn Award last night at the MTV Movie Awards. Instead of taking the mic, she tried taking his award away from him.
Plaza appeared to be drunk. She had walked on stage barefoot with a cup in her hand, tugging on the award in the other. However, the 45 year-old actor held onto his award firmly and didn't let go.
The Anchor Man actor was confused and asked her if she was okay. After Plaza took her seat, Ferrell tried to play the incident off. "Aubry Plaza everyone. Just like we rehearsed it.
It was not planned and Plaza was removed by security during the next commercial break.
She made a tweet shortly after: "thanks for the advice @kanyewest went better than planned!"
